Small Business Development and Education
The heart and soul of the GPHCC, the SBDE is an umbrella program that addresses the needs of Latino business owners and corporations working to enhance the viability of emerging Hispanic markets. Hispanic business markets are complex in that as emerging markets, the segment has much to learn regarding business systems in the United States. The segment is simply a U.S. small business, yet the systems themselves provide for diversified opportunities according to the level of understanding.
Professional Mentoring Network
The Greater Philadelphia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GPHCC) identified a need to address the slow growth of Hispanics in management and positions of leadership, and to address increased high school drop-out rates. Led by an advisory board formed by Latino professionals, the Professional Mentoring Network (PMN) was created in 2007 to connect professionals with executives and with Latino high school youth to receive and provide mentoring activities that help them grow in their careers while motivating high school students to stay in school. The program also provides executives with exposure to the workforce and leadership of the future
Latina Leadership Network
The Latina Leadership Network (LLN) seeks to increase enrollment of Latina professionals and entrepreneurs by providing guidance and empowerment through leadership education. It will create opportunities for professional growth and development while providing the opportunity to share ideas in a comfortable setting. The LLN will ignite Latina business growth in the region while creating a body of representation that addresses relevant issues for Latinas across Pennsylvania.
