About the Trade Mission:
The Greater Philadelphia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia (WTCGP) together, will lead a business development mission to Colombia and Panama from June 6 – 13, 2009.
This mission gives participating companies the opportunity to meet one on one with prospective business partners, explore new opportunities for their products and services, and gain first hand experience in these Latin American emerging markets.
With improved security and good government policies, Colombia is quickly moving up the ranks of U.S. export partners (currently 29th globally). The country boasts one of the most stable economies in the region, with GDP growth of 8.2% in 2007. In the same year, the U.S. Trade and Development (USTDA) named Colombia Country of the Year, reflecting growth and opportunities in multiple sectors, including telecommunications, energy, transportation, construction and tourism.
Panama is the crossroads of trade for the Americas, with the U.S. being the country’s most important trade partner. Panama’s economy is based on a well-developed service sector with potential for substantial growth in the areas of electric power generation, health care services, port services, land development, road construction, water distribution and purification, telecommunications and tourism.
Participating companies will benefit from:
